Modi reiterates support for ‘early resolution’ of war in third meeting with Zelenskyy

Kyiv, Sep 24 (EFE).- Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York on Monday and reiterated his country’s support for an “early resolution of the conflict in Ukraine and restoration of peace and stability.”

“We are committed to implementing the outcomes of my visit to Ukraine last month to strengthen bilateral relations,” Modi wrote in a message on X.

For his part, Zelenskyy recalled that this was the third bilateral meeting he has held this year with the Indian leader.

“We are actively developing our relations and working together to strengthen cooperation across various fields,” the Ukrainian president wrote on X.

“The main focus of our conversation was on enhancing our interaction on international platforms, particularly at the UN and G20, as well as implementing the Peace Formula and preparing for the second Peace Summit,” he added.

Zelenskyy’s 10-point peace plan includes a demand for the complete withdrawal of Russian troops from Ukraine.

The Ukrainian president is working on holding, before the end of the year, a second peace summit like the one that took place in June in Switzerland to secure the maximum possible international support for his Peace Formula.

“We had a substantive discussion on the available opportunities,” said Zelenskyy about his conversation with Modi regarding the second summit. EFE
