Washington, Nov 6 (EFE).– President-elect Donald Trump has laid out sweeping and drastic plans for his second term in office, aiming to reshape US policy with aggressive stances on immigration, trade, and energy.
While details remain sketchy, Trump’s public statements have hinted at a broad agenda combining traditional conservatism with a populist approach to foreign policy.
The following are his main policy agendas:

Immigration
Trump has promised the largest mass deportation program in US history, granting local authorities the power to arrest undocumented immigrants.
He also advocates for a reduction in both irregular and regular migration, proposing an “ideological evaluation” for visa applicants, ending birthright citizenship, and restricting migration based on public health concerns.
His plan also includes banning citizens from certain Muslim-majority countries, reminiscent of his 2017 travel ban.

Abortion
Trump has championed his role in appointing Supreme Court justices who overturned federal abortion protections in 2022, allowing states to restrict abortion.
He maintains that abortion policy should be decided at the state level, promising to veto any national abortion ban that Congress may approve.
Foreign Policy
Trump’s foreign policy is marked by an isolationist approach, summed up by the phrase “peace through strength” from former President Ronald Reagan.
He has expressed confidence that he could quickly end the wars in Ukraine and Gaza, although details remain unclear.
His criticisms of NATO and praise for authoritarian leaders like Hungary’s Viktor Orbán and Russia’s Vladimir Putin are central to his stance.
Trade

Trump aims to protect US jobs by imposing tariffs on imported products, including up to 20 percent on all imports and 60 percent on Chinese goods.
He targets the automotive industry with a threat of up to 200 percent tariffs on cars from Mexico to deter Chinese manufacturers from moving there.
Taxes and Debt
Trump proposes extending the corporate tax cuts from his first term, lowering the corporate tax rate to 15 percent for companies manufacturing solely in the US.

He also promises to eliminate taxes on overtime and tips. However, this plan would add $5.8 trillion to the federal debt over the next decade, raising concerns given the US national debt stands at $35 trillion.
Environment
A climate change skeptic, Trump vows to eliminate subsidies for electric vehicles and ramp up oil and gas production, repeating his rallying cry: “Drill, drill, drill!”
During his first term, he rolled back environmental regulations and withdrew from the Paris Agreement.
Health
Trump has long called for dismantling Barack Obama’s health care reform, though he has not offered a detailed alternative.
In the latter stages of his campaign, he aligned with Robert F. Kennedy Jr., promising to appoint him to lead an initiative focused on “making America healthy again.”
LGBTQ+ Rights
Trump has pushed for limiting diversity and legal protections for the LGBTQ+ community. His proposals include banning transgender women from participating in girls’ sports and seeking congressional recognition of only two genders, male and female, at birth.
Such measures would limit legal recognition for non-binary individuals and violate the rights of the LGBTQ+ community.
Trump’s second-term agenda reflects his commitment to a conservative, populist vision of America, promising radical shifts across various sectors. EFE
