Families of captives in Gaza: ‘tonight could be the last night for hostages’

Jerusalem, Sep 16 (EFE).- The families of Israeli hostages in Gaza expressed their concern” over the intense attacks Israel is carrying out tonight in the Gaza Strip, stating that “tonight could be the last night for hostages.”

In a statement, the Forum of Families of Hostages and Missing Persons, which represents most of the relatives of those kidnapped in the Hamas attacks against Israel on October 7, 2023, expressed concern about a major military operation launched on Monday night in Gaza City.”

”After 710 nights of captivity at the hands of terrorists, tonight could be the last night for hostages who are barely surviving, and our last chance to locate and recover the deceased for dignified burial,” the forum wrote.

“Many living hostages are in Gaza City. Disregarding the advice of the IDF Chief of Staff and security chiefs PM Netanyahu is deliberately choosing to sacrifice them for political considerations,” it added.

They also announced that several family members are heading to the residence of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in Jerusalem. EFE
