Russia shoots down dozens of Ukrainian drones over seven regions

Moscow, Nov 26 (EFE).- Russian anti-aircraft defenses shot down 39 Ukrainian drones overnight over six regions of the country and the annexed Crimean peninsula, the Russian defense ministry reported on Tuesday.

According to the military report, 24 drones, more than half of those shot down, were destroyed over the territory of the southern region of Rostov, bordering Ukraine.

There were no casualties or damage on the ground, acting Rostov governor Yury Slyusar wrote on Telegram, describing the Ukrainian air attack as “massive.”

The other drones, the ministry of defense said, were shot down in four other border regions: Bryansk (5), Belgorod (3), Kursk (3), Voronezh (1), as well as Oryol region (1) and the Crimean peninsula (2).

Last week, Kursk and Bryansk regions were the target of the first Ukrainian attacks with American and British long-range missiles.

In response, Moscow launched for the first time an Oreshnik hypersonic ballistic missile against an arms factory in the eastern Ukrainian region of Dnipro. EFE
