Madrid, April 21 (EFE).- Lucas Vázquez, the right-back for Real Madrid, had an exceptional performance in the 3-2 victory against Barcelona on Sunday. He scored a goal, won a penalty, and provided an assist.
Vázquez highlighted that within the white team, they knew “it was a final for the LaLiga.” They have put themselves on track with an 11-point lead over Barcelona with 18 matches left to play, and they “need to finish it off.”
“We’ve experienced a fantastic night, something we all deserved. We’ve taken a big step towards the League. Despite coming off a big effort, the team gave everything again to achieve this victory that gives us that advantage in the League, making the title closer,” he stated on Real Madrid TV.
“We knew today was a final for the League, that the team needed this victory. We’re all very happy. We just need to finish it off,” he added.
In addition, Lucas Vázquez explained how Real Madrid’s comeback was orchestrated on the field.
“With five minutes left, with a free-kick against us, the whole team was talking: let’s go for the goal, let’s win, and that’s what this club, this badge, represents. We always want to win, fight until the end,” he said.
