Paris, Jun 8 (EFE).- Iga Swiatek, Poland\u2019s world number one, defeated Italy\u2019s Jasmine Paolini to win the French Open on Saturday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The victory makes it three consecutive titles \u2013 and four overall \u2013 for Swiatek, 23, at Roland Garros, to add to her US Open win in 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n

Swiatek continued the dominant form she has shown in Paris, barely giving the Italian 12th seed a chance to get a foothold in the match, which was done and dusted in little over an hour.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Polish star only dropped one set throughout the competition \u2013 to Naomi Osaka in the second round, when she recovered from a match point down \u2013 as she powered to the championship to become the first woman to win three consecutive French Open titles in 17 years.<\/p>\n\n\n
