Jerusalem, Oct 8 (EFE).- Israeli authorities said Tuesday its air forces killed another Hezbollah commander, Suhail Hussein Husseini, who headed the Shia group\u2019s logistics headquarters in Beirut.<\/p>
Husseini is the latest victim of a series of deadly attacks by Israel, which claimed the life of Hezbollah chief Hassan Nasrallah towards the end of last month.<\/p>
According to Israeli army spokesman for Arab media in X, Avichay Adraee, fighter aircraft carried out a precise incursion into Beirut and eliminated the militia, without specifying what specific day the attack took place.<\/p>
\u201cHusseini played a crucial role in weapon transfers between Iran and Hezbollah and was responsible for distributing the advanced weaponry among Hezbollah\u2019s units, overseeing both the transportation and allocation of these arms,\u201d the Israeli army said in a statement.<\/p>
It added that Husseini was \u201cresponsible for the budgeting and logistical management of Hezbollah\u2019s most sensitive projects, including the organization\u2019s war plans and other special operations, such as coordinating terrorist attacks against the State of Israel from Lebanon and Syria.\u201d<\/p>
On Sep. 28, Israel announced having dealt a severe blow to the Iran-backed Hezbollah\u2019s military leadership by killing its leader Nasrallah in airstrikes in Beirut.<\/p>
On Oct. 1, Iran fired some 180 missiles at Israel in response to the killings of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh and Nasrallah. <\/p>
This was Tehran’s second attack after it fired missiles and drones at two Israeli air bases in April in response to the death of seven members of the Revolutionary Guard at the Iranian consulate in Damascus.<\/p>
The Israeli military reported Monday that its Air Force fighter jets carried out attacks in Beirut targeting assets belonging to the intelligence headquarters of the Lebanese Shiite group Hezbollah.<\/p>
In addition, Israeli warplanes attacked more than 70 Hezbollah targets in southern Lebanon, including “terrorist” infrastructure sites, launchers, command and control centers, and a weapons storage facility.<\/p>
Since the conflict spread to Lebanon, more than 2,000 people have been killed, according to data from the Lebanese Ministry of Public Health, and 1.2 million have been displaced by continued Israeli attacks. EFE <\/p>
