Jerusalem, Oct 17 (EFE).- The Israeli Army ordered Thursday the immediate evacuation, within a radius of at least 500 meters, of a building in the eastern Bekah Valley supposedly located near the facilities and interests of Hezbollah.<\/p>
The order comes a day after the Israeli defense forces attacked 150 targets in the country, such as weapons depots and launchers.<\/p>
\u201cUrgent warning to the residents of the Bekaa region, specifically those in the building specified on the map, located in the Sareen al-Tahta area, and the buildings adjacent to it,\u201d Israeli defense spokesperson in Arabic, Avichay Adraee said on social media platform X.<\/p>
\u201cFor your safety and the safety of your family, you must evacuate this building and the surrounding buildings immediately and stay at least 500 meters away from them,\u201d he added.<\/p>
Since the start of the escalation of war against Hezbollah at the end of September, more than 25 percent of Lebanon is already under evacuation orders of the Israeli army, according to the United Nations refugee agency UNHCR\u2019s Middle East head Rema Jamous Imseis.<\/p>
In another statement Thursday, the Army announced having dismantled 150 “terrorist targets” on the previous day, such as weapons depots and other infrastructure.<\/p>
The statement also claimed to have eliminated more than 45 militiamen, including a Hezbollah commander – identified as Hussein Muhamad Awada – in the Bint Jbeil area in southern Lebanon.<\/p>
Moreover, Israeli soldiers made fresh ground incursions, during which they located large quantities of weapons in the south.<\/p>
Israeli attacks on Lebanon have resulted in more than 2,300 deaths since Oct.8, 2023, some 1,500 of them in the past three weeks. The Israeli campaign and ground invasion have forced more than 1.2 million people to flee their homes, according to official figures. EFE<\/p>
