New York, United States, Oct 23 (EFE).- United States Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris said Wednesday in a televised meeting with undecided voters that the country deserves a president with common sense.<\/p>
She promised the voters of Pennsylvania \u2013 a disputed state that both parties need to win to assure victory \u2013 that she will be “a president for all Americans,” while calling her rival and former President Donald Trump a fascist and a danger to his country.<\/p>
Personal attacks have been a recurring strategy, by both campaigns, in this final stretch of the presidential elections on Nov. 5.<\/p>
In this meeting coordinated by CNN, in which the vice president answered questions of all kinds from the attendees, Harris accused the Republican magnate of being “unfit to serve.”<\/p>
She also referred to reports that former chief of staff John Kelly said in a series of interviews that the former president spoke of Nazi generals’ loyalty to German dictator Adolf Hitler.<\/p>
“It is deeply troubling and incredibly dangerous that Donald Trump would invoke Adolf Hitler, the man who is responsible for the deaths of 6 million Jews and hundreds of thousands of Americans,” she said.<\/p>
He also said Trump admires dictators and criticized his relationship with leaders such as North Korea\u2019s Kim Jong-un or Russia\u2019s Vladimir Putin.<\/p>
On the economy, one of the main concerns of voters, according to polls, the vice president said her tax plan will benefit middle-class families \u2013 and reiterated her humble origins.<\/p>
She said she would not raise taxes on anyone who earns less than $400,000 a year, adding that the system that benefits the richest and does not help working middle-class Americans must be taken seriously.<\/p>
In reference to the border with Mexico and immigration, the vice president said she wants a “comprehensive path to citizenship” to be included in an effort to solve “this problem,” as well as more border agents and personnel.<\/p>
Harris also criticized Trump again for interfering in a bipartisan bill in congress that could have covered part of the border problems.<\/p>
The Democrat did not answer whether she would be more pro-Israel than Trump, nor did she respond to a question about what she would do to ensure that no more Palestinians are killed by “bombs funded by American taxpayers’ money.”<\/p>
Trump spent Wednesday campaigning in Georgia \u2013 a state he lost to Joe Biden in the 2020 election \u2013 where he campaigned at a community church in Zebulon and gave a speech to the Turning Point political action committee.<\/p>
From Duluth, the Republican said that Harris “has no idea about economics, is not an intelligent person and is someone with a low IQ.”<\/p>
Trump also attacked the Democratic vice presidential candidate, Tim Walz, by calling him a “sick guy.”<\/p>
Governor Walz voted Wednesday in his home state of Minnesota, and Senator James Vance Trump’s running mate, campaigned in Nevada, another key state in these elections. EFE<\/p>
