Washington, Dec 11 (EFE).- United States President-Elect Donald Trump said Sunday he would implement his border policies through Tom Homan, who was already part of the Republican\u2019s previous term.<\/p>
“Tom Homan will be in charge of all Deportation of Illegal Aliens back to their Country of Origin (sic.) Congratulations to Tom. I have no doubt he will do a fantastic, and long awaited for, job (sic),” the president-elect himself said in a message on Truth Social.<\/p>
In his announcement, Trump called Homan “the border czar” and said his policy would include defending the “southern border, the northern border, all maritime and aviation security.”<\/p>
“I’ve known Tom for a long time, and there is nobody better at policing and controlling our Borders (sic),” wrote Trump, who will take office in January.<\/p>
In statements to CBS in October, Homan said no raids of undocumented immigrants have been carried out during the Democratic administration of Joe Biden and announced they would resume under the new administration.<\/p>
Homan was appointed acting director of the Immigration and Customs Enforcement Service in 2017 and has decades of experience in the application of immigration laws. He was a police officer, a US border patrol agent and a special agent for the former Immigration and Naturalization Service.<\/p>
Homan joins those that have already been confirmed to join the presidential cabinet, such as Susie Wiles, who will be his chief of staff in the White House.<\/p>
One of the people who could have a major role is world\u2019s wealthiest man Elon Musk, director of Tesla and SpaceX and owner of social media network X, from where he has promoted a strong campaign in favor of the Republican.<\/p>
Trump offered that Musk lead an office for “government efficiency” with the aim of cutting bureaucratic expenses and fulfilling the Republican’s goal of eliminating what he calls the “deep state.”<\/p>
A position is also expected for Robert F. Kennedy Jr., nephew of former Democratic President John F. Kennedy, a controversial businessman, known for his anti-vaccine stance and of whom Trump has said he could have an important role in health policy. EFE<\/p>
