Jerusalem\/Gaza, Jan 3 (EFE).- At least 100 Gazans, including minors, have died in the Gaza Strip after 24 hours of intense Israeli attacks that have hit the devastated Palestinian enclave from north to south, according to sources on the ground on Friday.<\/p>
“Yesterday’s situation was difficult, especially in Gaza City, where the city faced a new type of operation. Ninety percent of yesterday\u2019s attacks were murders and killings of citizens,\u201d civil defense spokesperson Mahmoud Bassal told EFE.<\/p>
The Israeli army relentlessly bombed the Strip throughout the day on Thursday, and especially Gaza City, where more than 40 people lost their lives, according to Bassal.<\/p>
“It was crazy and, unfortunately, the medical system here was severely affected because it is in a difficult situation. The doctors had to work with a comparison policy, which means that whoever endures the longest will be treated first,” he added.<\/p>
On Friday morning, the army continued to bombard the enclave and killed at least twelve people, according to the official Palestinian news agency, Wafa.<\/p>
Among the victims was photojournalist Omar Salah Al Derawi who died along with his parents after an Israeli bombing in the Al Zawaida area in the center of the Gaza Strip.<\/p>
With the death of Al Derawi, the total number of journalists killed in the Israeli offensive rises to 202, according to the Hamas-controlled health ministry of Gaza.<\/p>
On Friday, four more Gazans were killed after the army attacked a house and a tent in Deir Al Balah, in the center of the enclave. EFE <\/p>
