London, – The British Academy Film Awards held the 78th Bafta Awards on Sunday at London’s Royal Festival Hall. Season favorites such as Conclave and The Brutalist scored big wins, so did Mikey Madison, nominated for best actress and rising star.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

German director Edward Berger’s papal drama “Conclave” won best picture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Brady Corbet won best director for “The Brutalist,” which also earned Adrien Brody his first Bafta. <\/p>\n\n\n

Mikey Madison was the Bafta night’s surprise, winning Best Actress for her work in “Anora,” beating Demi Moore (“The Substance”), who was the favorite to take home the golden mask, as well as Marianne Jean-Baptiste (“Hard Truths”), Saoirse Ronan (“The Outrun”), Cynthia Erivo (“Wicked”) and Karla Sof\u00eda Gasc\u00f3n (“Emilia P\u00e9rez”).<\/p>\n\n\n
