Sports Desk, Nov 14 (EFE).- Portugal superstar Cristiano Ronaldo has said he feels \u201cbetrayed\u201d by Manchester United and that the club was trying to force him out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In an explosive interview with British journalist Piers Morgan for TalkTV on Sunday, the forward took aim at current manager Erik ten Hag, as well as the previous manager Ralf Rangnick and his former teammate Wayne Rooney.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Asked whether he felt he was being forced out of the club, Ronaldo responded: \u201cYes, not only the coach but (also) the other two or three guys that are around the club.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI feel betrayed,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cSome people don\u2019t want me here, not only this year but last year, too,\u201d said Ronaldo, 37, who returned to Manchester United in 2021 having made his name as a global star with the club between 2003-09.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Ronaldo spoke about ten Hag, saying: \u201cI don\u2019t have respect for him because he doesn\u2019t show respect to me.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He also slammed ten Hag\u2019s predecessor, Rangnick, describing him as \u201cnot even a coach.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Ronaldo was suspended from the first team last month by ten Hag after refusing to come on as a substitute against Tottenham Hotspur.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
His behavior at the club prompted criticism from former teammate Wayne Rooney.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Ronaldo responded Sunday: \u201cI don\u2019t know why he criticizes me so badly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cProbably because he finished his career and I\u2019m still playing at a high level. I\u2019m not going to say that I\u2019m looking better than him. Which is true.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Manchester United said it would consider its response “after the full facts have been established.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
