Washington, Mar 21 (EFE).- US President Donald Trump on Friday called those responsible for burning Tesla vehicles and attacking its dealerships \u201csick terrorist thugs\u201d and suggested sending them to El Salvador prisons.<\/p>
\u201cI look forward to watching the sick terrorist thugs get 20 year jail sentences for what they are doing to Elon Musk and Tesla,\u201d Trump said in a post on Truth Social.<\/p>
\u201cPerhaps they could serve them in the prisons of El Salvador, which have become so recently famous for such lovely conditions!\u201d<\/p>
He was referencing the country’s Terrorism Confinement Center (CECOT), where alleged members of the Tren de Aragua gang have been sent under a US-El Salvador agreement.<\/p>
On Thursday, US Attorney General Pam Bondi announced charges against three individuals accused of setting fire to Tesla vehicles, dealerships, or charging stations. She requested prison sentences ranging from five to 20 years.<\/p>
\u201cThe days of committing crimes without consequence have ended,\u201d said Bondi. \u201cLet this be a warning: if you join this wave of domestic terrorism against Tesla properties, the Department of Justice will put you behind bars.\u201d<\/p>
This week, similar attacks have been reported at Tesla dealerships in Las Vegas, Nevada, and Kansas City, Missouri.<\/p>
The FBI in Las Vegas is investigating one incident as a possible act of terrorism, according to The Washington Times. EFE<\/p>
