London (EFE).- King Charles III suspended his Friday engagements after being temporarily hospitalized on Thursday due to side effects from his ongoing cancer treatment, Buckingham Palace announced.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In a statement, the palace said the monarch experienced adverse effects following his medical treatment earlier in the day, requiring a short period of observation at the hospital. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

“His Majesty would like to send his apologies to all those who may be inconvenienced or disappointed as a result,” the palace said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Although Charles III has since returned to Clarence House, his planned activities for Thursday afternoon were postponed, and his Friday schedule has been canceled as a precaution. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ongoing cancer battle <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The 75-year-old king was diagnosed with an unspecified form of cancer in Feb. 2024<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He had been scheduled to receive the credentials of three foreign ambassadors on Thursday and participate in four public events in Birmingham on Friday. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to palace sources, Charles III hopes to reschedule these commitments and has expressed his apologies to those involved in their organization. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The monarch was seen arriving at London Clinic, the same hospital where he previously received treatment. <\/p>\n\n\n

However, he has since returned to his official residence, where he resumed desk work and pre-scheduled phone calls. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Buckingham Palace does not expect major disruptions to the king\u2019s upcoming schedule, though his workload may be lightened in the coming days to ensure a full recovery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Despite the brief hospitalization, palace officials insist that Charles III\u2019s treatment is progressing well and describe the latest incident as an isolated occurrence. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The King remains committed to his duties and has continued an active public schedule in recent weeks, including a reception for regional media earlier this week. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
