New Delhi (EFE).- At least three people were injured on Friday in a suspected Pakistani drone attack in a residential area in the Indian province of Punjab, police said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Several explosions were reported in different places, especially in the Indian-administered Kashmir.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“We received information about three people being injured. They have burn injuries. Doctors will treat them. Most of the drones have been neutralised by the army,” Bhupinder Sidhu, superintendent of police in Ferozepur, near the Pakistan border, told the media.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A doctor at the hospital told the media that one of the injured women was in a critical condition with “severe burns” and the other two had minor burns.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Ferozepur is the site of an Indian Army cantonment and is only about ten kilometers from the Pakistani border.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Indian security forces claimed on Friday that Pakistan had launched a drone attack along the border, specifically against towns in New Delhi-administered Kashmir.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A defense official told EFE that in Indian Kashmir, the attacks were reported in the areas of Samba and Pathankot, in the Jammu division, but did not specify if there had been damage or casualties or if they were intercepted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Pakistan has so far neither confirmed nor denied the attack.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Dozens of explosions were also heard in Srinagar, the region’s biggest city, although their origin is unknown.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
India said Thursday that Jammu and other areas of Indian Kashmir were victims of Pakistani drone attacks. Islamabad, however, denied this on Friday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
An Indian administrative official told EFE that Pakistani forces were violating the ceasefire agreement along the Line of Control (LoC), initially in the Poonch sector and later extending to Rajouri.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“The Indian army is retaliating effectively,” the official added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Indian authorities have not yet confirmed any casualties or damage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
India and Pakistan are in the midst of one of their worst military escalations in decades, with troops on both sides reporting military incursions by the other.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
At least 80 people have been killed in the ongoing conflict between India and Pakistan.EFE<\/p>\n\n\n\n
