Gaza City, May 15 (EFE).- Israeli airstrikes launched from midnight till mid-morning on Thursday on the devastated Gaza Strip have killed at least 74 people, 53 of them in the southern town of Khan Younis, medical sources in the enclave told EFE.<\/p>
This is the second consecutive night of intense Israeli bombing in the Strip, after another 70 deaths were recorded on Wednesday, including dozens of children.<\/p>
The targets of attacks by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s troops in recent hours have primarily been homes in Khan Younis and Rafah, according to the Palestinian news agency Wafa.<\/p>
Among the victims are independent journalist Hassan Samour and several members of his family who died after an Israeli bombing of their home in the town of Bani Shuaila, east of Khan Younis.<\/p>
Since the outbreak of the Israeli offensive in the Strip more than 19 months ago, the Media Office has recorded the killing of more than 200 journalists by Israeli attacks.<\/p>
Three other Palestinians were killed after Israeli warplanes bombed a house in Deir al-Balah, in the center of the Palestinian enclave.<\/p>
Israeli army attacks were also reported in the northern part of the Strip. At least five people were killed in a bombing of a Shihab family home in the town of Jabalia.<\/p>
This wave of Israeli attacks comes after Hamas released US-Israeli hostage Edan Alexander on Monday, and as US President Donald Trump continues his tour of the region. EFE<\/p>
