Liverpool, England, (EFE).- The multiple run over that occurred on Monday in Liverpool (northwest England), during the Premier League soccer title parade, for which a 53-year-old British man has been arrested, resulted in 27 people being hospitalized and among those affected there are four children, according to the authorities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During a press conference with the media, the director of the North West Ambulance Service (NWAS), David Kitchin, said that 27 patients were taken to various hospitals in Liverpool for treatment and added that \u201cunfortunately, four of the injured were children\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Merseyside Police Assistant Chief Constable Jenny Sims said it was an \u201cisolated incident\u201d and is not being investigated as a terrorist attack.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Authorities said they were responding to a road traffic incident on Water Street after receiving reports shortly after 6:00 pm that a vehicle had collided with several pedestrians in the area, which was crowded due to the city\u2019s soccer celebrations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe vehicle stopped at the scene and a man was arrested,\u201d Merseyside Police stated on social media platform X (formerly Twitter). <\/p>\n\n\n\n

No further details have been released regarding the suspect\u2019s identity, possible motive, or the exact number and condition of those injured. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

British Prime Minister Keir Starmer described the mass shooting in Liverpool (northwest England) during soccer league celebrations as \u201cappalling\u201d and asked to give \u201cspace\u201d to the police to investigate what happened. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe scenes in Liverpool are appalling; my thoughts are with all those injured or affected,\u201d the London chief executive wrote on the social network X.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Labour politician also thanked the police and emergency services for their \u201cswift and ongoing response to this shocking attack.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThey are keeping me informed of developments and I ask that we give the police the space they need to investigate,\u201d the British leader added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Emergency services, including police officers, ambulances, and fire crew, were quickly deployed to the scene, which was cordoned off as investigators began their work. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

British media footage showed a heavy police presence surrounding the area, with emergency responders assisting victims. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The incident occurred as thousands of fans had gathered in Liverpool on a public holiday to celebrate the club\u2019s 20th league title. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Players paraded through the city on an open-top bus, drawing large crowds along the route. <\/p>\n\n\n

In a separate statement, the North West Ambulance Service (NWAS) confirmed it was assisting at the scene: \u201cWe are currently assessing the situation and working alongside emergency service partners.
