London, May 28 (EFE) \u2014 United Kingdom prosecutors confirmed on Wednesday the authorization of 21 criminal charges against influencer Andrew Tate and his brother, Tristan, including rape, bodily harm, and human trafficking.<\/p>
“We can confirm that we have authorized charges against Andrew and Tristan Tate for offenses including rape, human trafficking, controlling prostitution, and actual bodily harm against three women,” said a spokesperson for the Crown Prosecution Service for England and Wales.<\/p>
Former Kickboxer and Influencer Andrew Tate, 38, known for his misogynistic and sexist social media posts, was charged with 10 counts, including rape, bodily harm, human trafficking, and controlling prostitution for personal gain. These charges relate to three women.<\/p>
Meanwhile, Tristan, 36, was charged with 11 counts relating to one woman, including rape, bodily harm, and human trafficking.<\/p>
The prosecution said it authorized the charges after receiving a dossier of evidence from the Bedfordshire Police in central England. <\/p>
The police issued an international arrest warrant for the brothers in 2024 for allegations dating back to between 2012 and 2015, which the Tates deny.<\/p>
The Tates, who were born in the United States but hold UK nationality, also face criminal charges in Romania for alleged child trafficking, sex with minors, and money laundering.<\/p>
As a result of the 2024 arrest warrant, Romanian courts ordered the extradition of the brothers to the UK, but the Crown Prosecution Service indicated it would not take effect until the pending “criminal matters” in Romania concluded.<\/p>
In a separate case, four other women filed a civil lawsuit against the influencer in April, accusing him of rape, coercive control, and sexual assault between 2013 and 2015.<\/p>
The plaintiffs testified before the judge and advanced their civil proceedings, which are expected to continue until early 2027. <\/p>
In 2019, the British prosecution service ruled out bringing criminal charges, so the plaintiffs are now seeking financial compensation for the offenses, which Tate denies.<\/p>
Meanwhile, Tate is facing a complaint in Los Angeles, California, from his ex-girlfriend, Brianna Stern, who accuses him of sexual assault, abuse, and gender violence. EFE<\/p>
