Washington, Jun 8 (EFE).- United States President Donald Trump on Sunday blamed the \u201cradical left\u201d for inciting and funding recent violent protests in Los Angeles after a large-scale immigration operation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The city is experiencing a third straight day of unrest, with clashes erupting between demonstrators and law enforcement following mass immigration raids in the region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThese Radical Left protests, by instigators and often paid troublemakers, will not be tolerated,\u201d Trump wrote on his social media platform, Truth Social.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cAlso, from now on, masks will not be allowed to be worn at protests. What do these people have to hide, and why?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Trump praised the National Guard for doing a \u201cgreat job\u201d in responding to what he called \u201cviolence, clashes, and unrest.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He also lashed out at California\u2019s Democratic leadership, insulting Governor Gavin Newsom, whom he referred to as \u201cNewscum,\u201d and criticizing Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass for what he called a \u201cvery slow permitting disaster.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWe have an incompetent Governor (Newscum) and Mayor (Bass) who were, as usual (\u2026) unable to to handle the task,\u201d Trump said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In response, Mayor Bass called the deployment of the National Guard \u201ccompletely unnecessary,\u201d saying Los Angeles was \u201cwell equipped to handle\u201d any protest-related disturbances.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Governor Newsom also denounced Trump\u2019s move, calling it a \u201cwrong mission\u201d that would \u201conly escalate tensions\u201d and \u201cerode public trust.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cTrump is sending 2,000 National Guard troops into LA County \u2014 not to meet an unmet need, but to manufacture a crisis,\u201d Newsom wrote on X, formerly Twitter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cHe\u2019s hoping for chaos so he can justify more crackdowns, more fear, more control. Stay calm. Never use violence. Stay peaceful.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On Saturday, protests continued in the city of Paramount after more than 50 federal vehicles took part in an immigration raid at a local business.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
For hours, federal agents used tear gas and stun grenades to disperse demonstrators. Several protesters suffered injuries from rubber bullets and stun devices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Department of Homeland Security reported acts of vandalism and graffiti on a federal building and immigration agency vehicles Friday night. EFE<\/p>\n\n\n\n
