London, Jul 3 (EFE).- Four people have been charged with illegally entering the British Royal Air Force (RAF) Brize Norton base in southern England and vandalizing two military planes, counter-terrorism police announced Thursday.<\/p>
On June 20, two Voyager aircraft were damaged after being sprayed with red paint at Brize Norton, an act for which the UK-based pro-Palestinian activist group, Palestine Action, claimed responsibility.<\/p>
The defendants, aged between 22 and 35, are due to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court in London on Thursday.<\/p>
The four are accused of conspiring to commit criminal damage and entering a prohibited place.<\/p>
The police have identified the four as Amy Gardiner-Gibson, 29; Jony Cink, 24; Daniel Jeronymides-Norie, 35, and Lewie Chiaramello, 22.<\/p>
A 41-year-old woman, previously arrested on suspicion of aiding and abetting a criminal, was released on bail until Sep. 19.<\/p>
In a statement, police said that the prosecution will argue in court that the alleged crimes had a terrorist connection.<\/p>
The indictment comes a day after the House of Commons, the lower house, voted to ban Palestine Action under anti-terror legislation, although the measure must be approved by the upper house before it can take effect. EFE<\/p>
