Islamabad, July 4 (EFE).- Some 30 alleged insurgents were killed by the Pakistani forces between Jul.1-3 in the north of the country, near its border with Afghanistan, belonging to an organization backed by India, the Pakistani armed forces said in a statement Friday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cOn night 1\/2 and 2\/3 July 2025, movement of a large group of khwarij (extremist dissidents), belonging to Indian proxy Fitna al Khwarij, who were trying to infiltrate through Pakistan-Afghanistan border, was detected by the security forces in general area Hassan Khel, North Waziristan District\u201d in the restive Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, the Pakistan army media wing ISPR said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Pakistani troops \u201ceffectively engaged and thwarted Indian sponsored Khawarij\u2019s attempt to infiltrate. As a result of precise and skillful engagement, all thirty Indian sponsored khawarij were sent to hell. A large quantity of weapons, ammunition & explosives was also recovered from the killed Indian sponsored Khawarij,\u201d it added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The army called on the Taliban-led de facto government of Afghanistan to control and prevent the use of its territory by “foreign proxies” to carry out terrorist activities against Pakistan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, in northwestern Pakistan and bordering Afghanistan, has been experiencing a wave of militant violence in recent years, especially in tribal districts and after the Taliban came to power in Kabul in August in 2021.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Last week, 13 Pakistani soldiers were killed in a suicide bombing on a military convoy, and last Wednesday, five passengers in a vehicle, including a government official, were killed in a bombing. Both attacks occurred in Khyber Paktunkhwa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Pakistan has in recent months linked several insurgent groups to India. The two South Asian nuclear powers experienced their biggest conflict in decades in April and May after an attack on civilians in Indian-administered Kashmir for which New Delhi blames Islamabad. EFE <\/p>\n\n\n\n
