London, Sep 16 (EFE). – United States President Donald Trump arrived Tuesday in London to begin a state visit to the United Kingdom.<\/p>
The president’s Air Force One plane landed at around 9 pm at Stansted Airport, north of London, where Trump and the first lady, Melania Trump, were received by Viscount Henry Hood on behalf of King Charles III.<\/p>
At the bottom of the staircase, British Foreign Secretary Yvette Cooper was waiting, and after the customary greetings, the president and the first lady boarded the Marine One helicopter bound for Winfield House, the residence of the US ambassador to the UK, located in London’s Regent’s Park.<\/p>
On Wednesday, King Charles III and Queen Camilla, will welcome the Trump family at Windsor Castle, where they will have lunch and then visit the tomb of Queen Elizabeth II in St. George’s Chapel.<\/p>
In the evening, the traditional state banquet will be attended by the Prince and Princess of Wales, William and Catherine, other members of the royal family, and ministers. <\/p>
During this visit, the US head of state will not pass through London, where a demonstration by the ‘Stop Trump Coalition’ group is expected on Wednesday to express dissatisfaction with the US president’s presence in the UK.<\/p>
On Thursday, Trump will travel to Chequers, the country residence of British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, to hold a meeting with him before holding a joint press conference. EFE <\/p>
