Madrid (EFE). \u2014 Atl\u00e9tico de Madrid recovered their best form to thrash Real Madrid 5-2 at the Metropolitano, ending Xabi Alonso\u2019s seven-game winning streak this season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Juli\u00e1n \u00c1lvarez scored twice, while Robin Le Normand, Alexander Sorloth, and Antoine Griezmann also found the net.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Barcelona now has the chance to claim the top spot in LaLiga EA Sports in their match at Montjuic against Real Sociedad, following Real Madrid\u2019s first defeat of the season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Real Madrid struck first in the opening half, with Le Normand\u2019s goal proving efficient, thanks to two key shots from Kylian Mbapp\u00e9 and Arda G\u00fcler. Atl\u00e9tico equalized in added time through a Sorloth header.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Brazilian defender \u00c9der Militao was forced off at halftime due to discomfort in his left ankle, leaving Ra\u00fal Asencio to take his place in central defense.<\/p>\n\n\n

Militao had injured his ankle three minutes into the match while blocking a clear chance from Sorloth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Despite treatment and playing the remainder of the first half limping, he could not continue after halftime.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Xabi Alonso will await test results to determine if the injury is serious, adding to defensive absences already affecting the team, including Trent Alexander-Arnold, Antonio R\u00fcdiger, and Ferland Mendy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the second half, Atl\u00e9tico dominated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

G\u00fcler converted a penalty to give them the lead in the 51st minute, and Juli\u00e1n \u00c1lvarez doubled the advantage with a brilliant free-kick goal in the 63rd minute.<\/p>\n\n\n
