United Nations, Sep 22 (EFE).- Russia deserves \u201cjust punishment\u201d for its invasion of Ukraine, president Volodymyr Zelenskyy told the United Nations General Assembly in an impassioned speech.<\/a>\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n In a pre-recorded address late Wednesday, the Ukrainian leader called for greater military support from the international community just hours after Russia\u2019s Vladimir Putin announced a \u201cpartial mobilization\u201d of army reservists and threatened the use of nuclear weapons. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Putin\u2019s remarks set the agenda on the second day of the UN assembly Wednesday, which Russia did not attend and came amid Kyiv\u2019s ongoing counteroffensive in the country\u2019s Kharkiv region. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Zelenskyy, speaking from Kyiv, said Putin\u2019s invasion was a \u201ccrime\u201d against Ukraine, its citizens and UN values. <\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cA crime has been committed against Ukraine, and we demand just punishment,\u201d the president, speaking in English, told dignitaries gathered at the UN headquarters in New York. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
