De acordo com a organiza\u00e7\u00e3o sediada em Genebra, o apelo vem em um cen\u00e1rio de emerg\u00eancias complexas em todo o mundo, no qual problemas como conflitos, mudan\u00e7as clim\u00e1ticas e instabilidade econ\u00f4mica est\u00e3o interligados e, juntos, causam deslocamento for\u00e7ado, fome e desigualdade.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“Novas emerg\u00eancias v\u00eam na esteira de um 2023 de imenso e evit\u00e1vel sofrimento, no qual ficamos horrorizados com o impacto de conflitos como os de Sud\u00e3o, Ucr\u00e2nia, Eti\u00f3pia, Haiti, Myanmar e, \u00e9 claro, Faixa de Gaza”, declarou Tedros.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\n“\u00c9 chocante saber que uma em cada cinco crian\u00e7as no mundo viveu ou teve de fugir de uma zona de conflito”, disse, lembrando tamb\u00e9m o impacto do aquecimento global na sa\u00fade, por meio de seus efeitos sobre secas, inunda\u00e7\u00f5es e outros desastres naturais, depois de 2023 ter sido ano mais quente j\u00e1 registrado.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n
O chefe da OMS enfatizou que a mudan\u00e7a clim\u00e1tica est\u00e1 alterando os padr\u00f5es de epidemia, como evidenciado pelo fato de que no ano passado houve um n\u00famero recorde de surtos de c\u00f3lera em todo o mundo, mais de 40.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Dos US$ 1,5 bilh\u00e3o solicitados, US$ 334 milh\u00f5es seriam destinados aos programas da OMS na \u00c1frica, US$ 705 milh\u00f5es para o Oriente M\u00e9dio, US$ 183 milh\u00f5es para a Europa, US$ 131 milh\u00f5es para as Am\u00e9ricas, US$ 49 milh\u00f5es para o Sul e Sudeste Asi\u00e1tico e US$ 15,2 milh\u00f5es para o Leste Asi\u00e1tico e Pac\u00edfico.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Tedros explicou que, no ano passado, esses programas s\u00f3 puderam ser financiados com uma m\u00e9dia de 12% dos fundos solicitados, segundo ele um “n\u00famero muito doloroso e que o mundo deve enfrentar em 2024”.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
