According to the ministry statement, the airstrikes occurred near Rafic Hariri hospital in the Lebanese capital and caused significant damages to its premises.
Israel resumed shelling on Monday on the southern suburbs of the capital city, especially targeting neighborhoods such as Haret Hreik, Al-Ruwais and Al Ghobeiry, as well as an area near Beirut International Airport.
In a statement on Tuesday, the Israeli army said that it attacked some 230 targets of the Lebanese Shiite group Hezbollah in southern Lebanon the previous day.
For its part, Hezbollah claimed three attacks against an intelligence headquarters and a military base outside Tel Aviv, as well as a naval base located northwest of Haifa in northern Israel.
At least 2,483 people have been killed and more than 11,600 wounded in Israeli attacks since Oct. 8, 2023, when clashes broke out between the Israeli army and the Lebanese Shiite group Hezbollah.
Most of these victims were recorded after Israel launched a campaign of heavy aerial bombardment on Sep. 23 against southern and eastern Lebanon as well as southern Beirut, which has displaced more than 1.2 million people. EFE
